Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident right from the day she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks, after her very first tryout. Felix graduated from high school in 2003, and was signed by Adidas an agreement as professional athlete. In the following year, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest athlete to win the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She consistently placed at the top of the podium in every event.
